India’s Electric Motorcycle Market: Sales Surpassed 1.2 Million Units in 2025

In India, new electric motorcycle registrations reached 1.28 million units in 2025—an increase of 130,000 units (11.4%) over the previous year—setting a record high. Since June 2023, the central government has gradually phased down purchase subsidies for electric motorcycles; however, demand has continued to grow. This sustained momentum is driven by the introduction of new models, expanded product lineups, price reductions, and the strengthening of sales and service networks.
