Nissan Motor Positions China as Global R&D, Production, and Export Hub

According to announcements from Nissan (China) Investment, Dongfeng Nissan’s new vehicle sales in China for January–June 2026 contracted 26.0% year-on-year to 207,000 units; however, NEVs reflecting local customer needs performed strongly, with NEV sales expanding 2.9-fold year-on-year. In June 2026, cumulative wholesale sales of the N-Series (N6, N7, NX8) reached 100,000 units. The NX8, the first SUV in the N-Series launched by Dongfeng Nissan in April 2026, took less than 24 months from concept to market launch, with over 70% of buyers aged between 30 and 40. By adopting Momenta’s R6 Flywheel large-scale model and featuring advanced driver assistance functions, the vehicle is believed to have captured a new customer base. Meanwhile, Zhengzhou Nissan’s NEV sales for the single month of June expanded 3.4-fold year-on-year.
