India’s Segmented Sales Results of Automobiles in 2021

The Indian automobile market recovered to 3,782,951 units in 2021, up 28.0% from the previous year. However, the market size did not reach the 2019 level of 3.8 million units before the outbreak of corona infection, and it was far below the 2018 level of 4.4 million units, which was the latest sales peak. In 2021, the resurgence of the corona virus and insufficient parts supply, especially semiconductors, slowed the momentum of recovery to a higher level.
