Thailand’s 2025 Automobile Sales by Segment

In 2025, Thailand's automotive market grew by 0.3% year-on-year to 606,000 units (announced by the Department of Land Transport [DLT]). While the one-ton pickup truck (1t PU) segment—the largest volume segment—continued its decline (down 36,000 units to 145,000 units), an increase in mid-to-large SUVs (up 27,000 units to 123,000 units) largely offset the drop. Additionally, small SUVs (up 3,000 units to 81,000 units) hit a record high for the fourth consecutive year, and the B segment showed signs of bottoming out at 128,000 units, on par with the previous year. The growth and recovery in these segments were all driven by expanding sales of Chinese models.
