The Philippines’ Automobile Sales by Segment in 2023

Automobile sales in the Philippines increased by 20.8% from the previous year to 441,241 units in 2023. Regarding the total sales for the top seven brands (Toyota, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Honda, Nissan, Ford, Isuzu), passenger cars increased by nearly 30%, SUVs and MPVs each rose by around 25%, and commercial vehicles went up by around 10%. Passenger cars are very popular in the Philippines, and although SUVs outsold passenger cars for the second consecutive year, the difference in sales between the two body types was around 10,000 units. The growth of the local SUV market is slow compared to other ASEAN countries. In addition, pickup trucks and MPVs each account for about 20% of the market.
