Singapore’s Automobile Sales in H1 2026

In the first half of 2026, new vehicle registrations in Singapore rose 9.6% year-on-year to 31,000 units, driven by an expansion in Certificate of Entitlement (COE) issuances. Within the electrified vehicle segment, BEV sales surged 67.1% year-on-year to 18,000 units, whereas HEV sales fell 19.4% to 8,000 units. This divergent performance was triggered by a revision to the country’s electrified vehicle adoption policy; purchase incentives for HEVs expired at the end of 2025, while subsidies for BEVs (up to 30,000 SGD) were extended through the end of 2027.
