Recent Sales Trends of Imported Japanese Vehicles in Japan

In Japan, the sales of overseas-made Japanese brand vehicles have been on the rise. In the first six months of 2025, sales increased by 29.0% compared to the same period last year to 52,368 units, accounting for 30% of the imported vehicle market and 2.2% of the total vehicle market. The rapid increase in imports of Indian-made models by Honda and Suzuki is likely to push up sales over 100,000 units in full-year 2025.
