2024 Vehicle Production in Thailand

In Thailand, automobile production reached 1,468,501 units in 2024, down 20% from the previous year. Production volume decreased significantly, especially for one-ton pickups which are the best-selling segment, due to shrinking demand triggered by stricter loan terms. Under these circumstances, Japanese manufacturers, which dominate the Thai automobile market, are reorganizing their local production bases by reducing excess production capacity. Meanwhile, Chinese OEMs such as BYD have begun full-scale local production of BEVs and PHEVs.
