Financial Results of Major Global Automakers in H1 2025

A comparison of the consolidated financial statements of the world’s major automakers for the period January to June 2025 clearly shows a downward trend in profits due to the negative impact of the additional tariffs imposed by the Trump administration. Many manufacturers took a cautious stance in passing on additional tariff costs to sales prices, absorbing the increased costs themselves, which was a factor that pushed down profits. Toyota bore the largest burden of additional tariffs until June 2025 at 3.12 billion USD (450 billion JPY). Toyota was followed by VW with 1.53 billion USD (1.3 billion EUR), GM with 1.1 billion USD, Honda with 830 million USD (120 billion JPY), and Ford with 800 million USD.
