Indonesia’s Automobile Sales by Segment in 2023

Indonesia’s automobile market in 2023 decreased 4.0% year-on-year to 1,005,802 units. Both passenger and commercial vehicles declined, but the decrease was greater for commercial vehicles. Passenger cars decreased by 0.6%, SUVs dropped by 0.2%, and MPVs, which account for nearly 40% of the market, fell by 1.1%. The proportion of SUVs was 17.4% in 2018 but expanded to 24.4% by 2023.
