Kazakhstan’s Automobile Market in 2024

Kazakhstan’s light vehicle sales (passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles) increased by 21.1% from the previous year to 197,721 units in 2024, setting a record high. While used car sales, which used to be over 1 million units per year, has declined to 910,000-920,000 units since 2023, purchasing new cars has emerged as a viable option. The estimated market share of Chinese brands for light vehicles appears to have increased by 10 points to 39%. Chinese companies are attracting attention as they strengthen their strategies such as expanding their local dealer network and providing low interest loans.
