Indonesia’s Motorcycle Sales Increased 38.2% to 5 Million Units in 2021
Motorcycle sales in Indonesia (domestic sales of five members of Indonesia’s motorcycle manufacturer association AISI) increased by 38.2% from the previous year to 5,057,516 units in 2021. Sales in 2021 increased significantly compared to 2021 when demand fell to a historically low level due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus infection. Although sales surpassed 5 million units in 2021, it remained at a low level compared to the pre-corona level of around 6 million units or more.
AISI forecasts that sales in 2022 will reach 5.1 million-5.4 million units and will return to the pre-corona level in 2023 at the earliest.
