Hyundai Motor Group’s H1 2025 Sales, Production and Export Results in China

Hyundai Motor Group is working to revitalize its operations in China. After reaching a production peak of over 1.83 million units in 2016, production continued to decline, shrinking to approximately one-fifth of that volume by 2022, reaching 383,400 units. However, since 2023, production has been on a recovery trend against the backdrop of expanding exports to various regions such as the Middle East, South America and Mexico. According to the strategies announced by the group’s members Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors in 2025, Hyundai aims to recover production scale mainly through a recovery in domestic sales within China, while Kia focuses on increasing exports.
