The Philippines’ vehicle sales increased 18.2% year-on-year to 293,336 units in 2021. The figure is based on the combined results of the members of the Philippine Automotive Industry Association (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) as well as members of the Association of Imported Vehicle Dealers (AVID). Since some automakers are members of more than one association, figures were adjusted accordingly. Although sales recovered from the previous year when the pandemic hampered demand, it was still significantly below compared to the pre-corona level. Looking at results by vehicle type, passenger vehicle sales went up 15.4% to 90,000 units and commercial vehicle sales rose 19.4% to 203,000 units in 2021.
