Vietnam: Automobile Market Projection for 2026

Vietnam’s total automobile sales for 2025—combining figures from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA), Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam (HTCV), and local automaker VinFast—is projected to reach a record high of 540,000 units, a 9.2% increase year-on-year. Since February 2025, a surge in government infrastructure projects and robust export activity have stimulated logistics demand. This has led to a consistent double-digit year-on-year increase in commercial vehicle sales, driving the overall market growth. With December marking the peak shopping season ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet), active consumer spending is expected to sustain this upward trend through the end of the year.
