South Korea’s Ownership Volume of Motor Vehicles

As of the end of 2022, the number of automobiles owned in South Korea reached 25.5 million units, an increase of 592,000 units from the end of the previous year. Passenger vehicles rose to 20.95 million units and trucks to 3.69 million units, but buses continued to decrease, dropping down to 724,000 units. The vehicle ownership rate was 496 units per 1,000 people which means that nearly half the population owns a vehicle.
