Indonesia’s Automobile Exports in 2025

In 2025, CBU vehicle exports from Indonesia grew by 9.7% year-on-year (+46,000 units) to 518,000 units, hitting a record high for the first time in two years. Exports increased across all vehicle categories except for medium and heavy commercial vehicles. Passenger cars (sedans and hatchbacks) rose 31.1% (+9,000 units) to 36,000 units, MPVs grew 5.9% (+10,000 units) to 184,000 units, and SUVs increased 7.7% (+18,000 units) to 259,000 units. The growth in SUVs was driven by the launch of new export models. Additionally, light commercial vehicle exports recovered, rising 30.6% (+9,000 units) to 39,000 units.
