Indonesia: Production / Sales / Export Volume of Automobiles (2012-2021) Indonesia: Production Volume of Automobiles by Type (2016-2021)

Indonesia's vehicle production in 2021 recovered to 1,121,967 units, up 62.6% from the previous year. While both domestic and overseas demand recovered, the revival of the domestic market was especially strong, going up around 70%, which in turn pushed up vehicle production. As for the business environment, it recovered 87% compared with the 2019 level prior to the pandemic, partly because social restrictions were not introduced as in 2020. Passenger vehicle sales rose 61.4% to 889,756 units, while demand for commercial vehicles increased 67.4 to 232,211 units.
