Chinese Brands Entering the European Market Pose Rising Competition to Existing Players

Chinese automobile brands are gradually increasing their presence in the global market. This report has compiled the market share of Chinese brands, both passenger and commercial vehicles, by country in Europe. Chinese OEMs have a relatively strong presence in Russia (48.2%) and somewhat high market control in the Middle East / Africa region (10.7%). In particular, in Russia, where automakers from Western countries withdrew one after another due to the Ukraine war, Chinese brands entered the market, increasing their market share from 2.1% in 2019 to nearly 50% in a few years.
