Beijing Yikong Zhijia Technology is a Chinese company that provides autonomous driving solutions for mines. In August 2021, it raised tens of millions of dollars from a number of investors including major Chinese mining company Zijin Mining Group. The money will be used to expand the company’s technology development team, purchase equipment such as mining vehicles and develop new products.

In August 2021, Yikong Zhijia announced its future business plans. It aims to gradually reduce the number of safety personnel on existing autonomous-driving transport vehicles for mines from the end of 2021. The company will also raise the scale of vehicle use in a single mine to around 80 vehicles after maturing autonomous driving technology in open pit coal mines by 2023. Overseas expansion is also under consideration, initially entering the Australian market followed by Canada. Services will be provided to Chinese mining companies in the initial phase and then to global players such as Rio Tinto Group and BHP.
