Wholesale motorcycle sales from January to May 2026 by the five member companies of the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association—Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and TVS Motor—remained nearly flat, ticking up 0.7% year-on-year to 2.61 million units. However, a sharp depreciation of the local currency, triggered by a widening current account deficit from high crude oil import costs and capital outflows, has significantly heightened uncertainty regarding the market outlook.
