New Zealand’s Automobile Market in 2024

New Zealand’s automobile sales fell 13.5% year-on-year to 128,824 units in 2024. The Clean Car Discount, a subsidy program to promote the purchase of low-emission vehicles, ended in December 2023, which led to a decline in BEV and PHEV sales. BEV sales dropped 68.8% to 6,748 units, while PHEV sales declined 61.3% to 3,484 units.
