Toyota Motor’s 2025 Automobile Sales in Japan

Toyota’s (including Lexus) 2025 vehicle sales in Japan reached 1.5 million units, a 4.1% increase year-on-year. This growth was driven by a rebound following the previous year’s suspension of vehicle supplies from Daihatsu due to certification irregularities, alongside persistent demand for HEVs. By model, significant increases were seen in the Pixis series and Roomy (both up over 40%) and the Raize (nearly doubled), clearly reflecting the recovery of these OEM models supplied by Daihatsu. Additionally, the battery-electric bZ4X saw a surge in orders after a major update in October 2025, which enhanced its range and charging performance while lowering the price. With wait times now exceeding six months, annual sales for the model are almost certain to top 10,000 units in 2026.
