Overview of Africa’s 2024 Automobile Market

Automobile sales in Africa (seven countries*¹) increased by 2.0% in 2024 compared to the previous year, reaching 908,000 units. Sales in South Africa, Africa’s largest market, decreased by 3.0% to 516,000 units. However, growth in markets like Morocco (up 9.2% to 176,000 units) and Egypt (up 12.6% to 97,000 units) underpinned the overall market performance.
