Thai Motorcycle Registrations Grew 3.8% to 950,000 Units in H1 2026 Amid Stimulus and Promos

Thailand’s economy continues to face persistent stagnation, characterized by sluggish income growth and rising living expenses—the latter driven by escalating tensions in the Middle East. Furthermore, high levels of household debt remain unresolved, prompting financial institutions to maintain stringent loan approval criteria. Despite these severe macroeconomic headwinds, new motorcycle registrations from January to June 2026 (released by the Department of Land Transport) rose 3.8% year-on-year (YoY) to 953,000 units, demonstrating that demand is on a path toward gradual recovery since 2025.
