China’s Bus Market: Sales Exceeded 500,000 Units in 2024

In 2024, China’s factory shipment volume of buses (substitutes sales data including incomplete vehicles and exports) exceeded 500,000 units for the first time in three years, expanding to 511,001 units. While large and medium buses increased double digits going up 23% to 65,901 units and rising 38.8% to 52,974 units respectively, small buses declined 1.9% to 392,126 units. In the first seven months of 2025, bus shipments went up by 9.7% year-on-year to 306,768 units, due to the recovery in domestic demand.
