Japan’s Imported Vehicle Sales in YTD June 2022

In the first half of 2022 in Japan, the number of foreign-brand imported vehicles sold decreased by 14.7% year-on-year to 116,408 units. Automobile groups selling more than 1,000 units in Japan saw a double-digit decline across the board, pushing down the overall sales of overseas brands. The supply of new vehicles was delayed due to semiconductor shortage and other issues, which led to the decline in sales.
