Indonesia’s Automobile Production in 2025

In 2025, automobile production in Indonesia totaled 1.15 million units, a 4.1% decrease from the previous year. While this marked the third consecutive year of decline, the pace of the downturn slowed compared to the prior year. The domestic market remained sluggish due to structural issues, such as the shrinking middle class that has yet to recover. In contrast, exports grew by 9.7% year-on-year to 518,000 units, reaching a record high for the first time in two years.
