Honda Motor’s Recent Business Trends in ASEAN

Honda Motor is accelerating the expansion of its SUV lineup and the introduction of HEVs in ASEAN. As a result, automobile sales in the first half of 2023 increased by 1.6% year-on-year to 173,000 units, and the market share, which had been declining since peaking in 2017 with 14.3%, climbed back to the 10% range. While market share in Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines continued to decline, the automaker boosted market coverage in Indonesia and Thailand.
