China’s Automobile Market (Part 4): NEV Sales Are Projected to Reach 19 Million Units in 2026

In 2025, factory shipments (domestic sales and exports) of new energy vehicles (NEVs, including BEVs, PHEVs, and FCEVs) in China are forecast to reach approximately 17 million units, with exports expected to double year-on-year to about 2.6 million units. Excluding exports, the scale of domestic sales is highly likely to exceed 14 million units.
