Taiwan’s Automobile Sales in H1 2025

Taiwan’s automobile sales in the first six months of 2025 decreased by 14.4% from the same period last year to 198,962 units. The main reason for the decline is thought to be that consumers are holding back on purchasing expensive items such as cars, taking a wait-and-see approach. Refraining from buying vehicles is due to factors such as the Trump Administration’s tariff policy and the uncertainty surrounding the possibility of extension or revision of the current excise tax reduction.
