Porsche’s 2022 Automobile Sales Results in Japan

Porsche's automobile sales in Japan in 2022 increased by 2.6% to 7,193 units. Rising demand for the Cayenne, 911 and Macan contributed to the second highest sales result after 2020. Although sales dropped 4.2% to 3,154 units in the first five months of 2023, full-year demand is expected to surpass 7,000 units as has been the case since 2018. While SUVs accounted for 22% of all Porsche sales in Japan in 2013, their share rose to 48% in the first five months of 2023, reaching the sales share of passenger cars. Such expansion is attributed to the Macan crossover SUV, launched in 2014, which has been boasting with top share among all Porsche models since 2015.
