Renault’s 2022 Automobile Sales Results in Japan

Renault’s vehicle sales in Japan increased by 12.4% year-on-year to 8,618 units in 2022. The French automaker’s share in the imported vehicle market rose 0.6 percentage points to 2.8% and accounted for 3.6% of the foreign brand market, up 0.6 percentage points from the previous year. Since 2020, both sales volume and market share among foreign brands have been increasing steadily, sales volume reaching a record high in 2022.

Renault is launching HEVs equipped with its own EV technology called E-TECH in Japan. The automaker released three E-TECH HYBRID models in 2022, the Arkana, Lutecia and Captur in May, July and September respectively.
