Taiwan's vehicle production increased 8% year-on-year to 265,320 units in 2021. Both production for the domestic market and for exports turned positive in 2021 after a slight decline in the previous year. Although the impact of the new coronavirus infection was successfully minimized in 2020, production decreased. In 2021, production for the domestic market rose for the third consecutive year to 235,306 units and production for exports ascended 56.9% to 30,014 units from 2020. Taiwan’s passenger vehicle production increased 8.7% to 196,749 units, while commercial vehicle production went up 6.1% to 68,571 units.
