Nissan Motor’s 2025 Automobile Sales in Japan

Nissan Motor’s full-year automobile sales in Japan for 2025 decreased by 15.2% year-on-year to 403,000 units, and its market share contracted by 1.9 points to 8.8%. While sales remained at just under 500,000 units with a 10% share through 2024, the company lost momentum. This marks the first time since records became available in 1993 that the share has fallen below 10%. It is possible that potential buyers held back due to reports of financial losses and the breakdown of management integration talks.
