Thailand’s Segmented Sales Results of Automobiles in 2021

Thailand’s automobile sales declined 4.2% from the previous year to 759,199 units in 2021. The decrease is attributed to the continued impact of the pandemic and few new compact car and one-ton pickup truck models on the market in 2021 which are the main segments of Thailand. On the other hand, several medium and large SUV models were revamped or newly launched. As a result, the share of this segment in the overall market increased 1.5pp to 11.8%, reaching an historic high level.
