Indonesia’s Automobile Market Projection for 2025

This article predicts that the Indonesian automobile market will shrink to around 850,000 units in 2024, down 15.5% from the previous year (written in mid-January 2025 when full-year 2024 data was not yet available). The decline is attributed to strict vehicle loan screening. The preferential policy that requires zero down payments on car loans has been repeatedly extended since the originally scheduled end of 2021, but it has no significant effect.
