Toyota Motor Strengthens Local R&D Framework and Supplier Partnerships in China

According to Toyota Motor’s announcement, its 2025 sales volume in the Chinese market (including Hong Kong and Macau) rose 0.2% year-on-year to 1.78 million units, with electrified vehicle sales expanding 10.3% year-on-year to 959,000 units. While foreign brands were forced to downsize their sales in the Chinese market, Toyota captured a user base that prioritizes the fuel efficiency and fueling convenience of HEVs, residual value rates, and safety, supported by the Chinese government’s automotive trade-in subsidies. In addition, the bZ3X, a C-SUV priced between 109,800 and 159,800 CNY offering excellent cost performance, sold 70,000 units and became a mainstay BEV model.
