China’s Automobile Exports in H1 2025 (Incl. Japan’s Data for Comparison)

China’s automobile exports continue to increase. After overtaking Japan in 2023 to become the world’s largest automobile exporter, exports in 2024 increased by 23.6% from the previous year to 6,395,036 vehicles, reaching the 6 million mark for the first time. In the January-June period of 2025, exports increased by 11.0% year-on-year to 3,246,107 units, and if the same level of growth continues throughout the year, exports could approach 7 million units.
