Nissan Motor announced in November 2021 that it will globally introduce 23 electric vehicle models, including 15 BEVs, by 2030. In Japan, Nissan has set a goal of increasing the sales ratio of electric vehicles including BEV and e-POWER models to 55% or more by 2026.

In line with its goal, Nissan released the Note Aura equipped with second-generation e-POWER technology in August 2021. In addition to launching the BEV Ariya in January 2022, Nissan plans to release a mini BEV in collaboration with Mitsubishi Motors in the spring of 2022. In addition, the new X-Trail, which has been already released in North America and China, is forecast to be launched in Japan fitted with e-POWER technology.
