Thailand’s Automobile Production Results in 2022

Thailand's automobile production in 2022 increased by 11.7% from the previous year to 1,882,385 units. Production for the domestic market recovered to nearly 90% of pre-corona levels, while production for export markets fully returned to the level prior to the pandemic. A recovery in domestic demand for pickup trucks and expansion of exports to the Middle East and Africa drove vehicle production in 2022. In the beginning of 2023, the Federation of Thai Industries forecast that production volume in 2023 would reach 1.95 million units, returning to the usual level of around 2 million units.
