Vietnam’s Automobile Sales in H1 2026

In the first half of 2026, vehicle sales in Vietnam—comprising VAMA member deliveries, Hyundai HTCV volumes, and domestic BEV manufacturer VinFast—surged 29.1% year-on-year (YoY) to 329,000 units, marking a new record high. This growth occurred despite retail headwinds; while overall economic expansion triggered an increase in lending, financial institutions tightened credit risk management by raising interest rates and reducing automotive loan caps. Amid these tighter financing conditions, domestic player VinFast successfully drove volume growth by aggressively scaling up its retail incentives.
