Indonesia’s Automobile Sales Results in 2022

Indonesia’s vehicle sales increased 18.1% year-on-year to 1,048,040 units in 2022 (wholesale data), surpassing the pre-corona level of over 1.03 million units of 2019. In addition to rising demand following the pandemic, sales were aided by the reduction of luxury tax on automobiles in the first nine months of the year. Passenger vehicle sales went up 18.8% to 783,563 units and commercial vehicle sales increased 16.3% to 264,477 units.
