Japan’s Electric Passenger Vehicle Sales in November 2020

In November 2020, electric (HEV / PHEV / BEV / FCEV) passenger vehicle sales increased
7.2% year-on-year to 83,000 units

・HEV sales rose 7.3% compared to the same month of the previous year to 80,000 units. Toyota went up 4.5% to 48,000 units thanks to solid sales of the Yaris and Harrier models. Honda increased 21.3% to 12,000 units driven up by strong results of the Fit. Nissan inched up 0.6% to 11,000 units. Foreign brands went up 35.2% to 1,627 units. ・BEVs declined 2.5% to 1,565 units. Although the Honda e, launched in October 2020, sold 177 units, it would not make up for the Nissan Leaf’s 23.7% decline.
