Indonesia’s Motor Vehicle Ownership in 2020

Indonesia’s automobile ownership volume stood at 27.79 million units as of the end of 2019. The number of vehicles increased by 1.03 million units from the end of the previous year, and ownership rate increased to 103.6 per 1,000 people. Of which passenger vehicles accounted for 17.24 million units, trucks for 8 million units and buses for 2.54 million units. Passenger vehicle ownership rate rose to 64.3 units per 1,000 people. In addition, motorcycle ownership volume went up to 126.59 million units and ownership rate reached 472.2 units per 1,000 people. The total number of automobiles and motorcycles owned was 154.38 million units and combined ownership rate reached 575.8 units per 1,000 people.
