Malaysia: Ownership Volume of Automobiles Reaches 16.38 Million Units, One in Two People Owns an Automobile

The number of automobiles owned in Malaysia reached 16.37 million units as of the end of June 2020. By vehicle type, 15 million units were passenger cars, accounting for 91.6% of the total, followed by 1.3 million trucks and 63,000 buses. At the same time, automobile ownership rate was 500 vehicles per 1,000 people, which means one out of two people owns an automobile in Malaysia.
