Toyota Motor: Production Volume of Automobiles in China (2016-2020, YTD June 2020 / 2021) | Toyota Motor: Production Volume of Automobiles in China (January 2019 - September 2021)

Toyota Motor's vehicle production in China in the first half of 2021 (including joint venture brands) increased 26.1% year-on- year to 812,000 units. Production adjustments were made in May and June 2021 due to the production transfer of the Avalon, but sales in the first five months of 2021 exceeded the level of the same period in 2020. However, it must be taken in consideration that production and sales were seriously hampered in the first half of 2020 by the pandemic. Toyota announced in March 2021 the establishment of a new joint venture company, Huafeng Fuel Cell, which manufactures and sells fuel-cell systems for commercial vehicles in China. Toyota also set up a joint R&D base United Fuel Cell System R&D (Beijing) with four Chinese automakers and a fuel-cell parts manufacturer Beijing SinoHytec in August 2020.
