Tianjin EV Energies is a Chinese pouch lithium-ion battery manufacturer based in Tianjin. As of November 2021, it had a pouch battery production capacity of 3.5 GWh / year. The company is currently building three more plants which will begin operations in the next two years. In the first nine months of 2021, the scale of drive batteries installed in automobiles reached 935.58 MWh, which was 2.2 times that of the same period of the previous year, making Tianjin EV Energies the 10th largest electric vehicle battery supplier in the industry. The company supplies several Chinese automakers as well as Ford and Nissan. Tianjin EV Energies also became the global supplier of Hyundai Motor in 2018 and passed the supplier qualification evaluation of VW in 2021.

Company history
・2009: Beijing Jianlong Heavy Industry Group established Tianjin EV Energies (JEVE) as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
・2010: Pilot production began.
Japan’s Mitsui & Co. invested 210 million CNY in JEVE.
・2013: JEVE became a supplier of Dongfeng Motor and Chery Automobile. JEVE signed an MOU on partnership agreement with Ford.
・2016: Phase two of the Tianjin Plant went into operation.
Battery production began for Changan Automobile.
・2017: Yueda Automobile Development invested in JEVE.
JEVE concluded an agreement on building a battery plant in Yancheng, Jiangsu province.
・2018: Shanghai Fuxing High Technology (Group) invested in JEVE.
JEVE became global supplier of Hyundai Motor.
JEVE set up a battery plant in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province.
・2020: Battery production began for Great Wall Motor.
・2021: JEVE received an order from SAIC Group.
JEVE received a C on Nissan’s Alliance Supplier Evaluation Standard (ASES) which ranks suppliers from A to D.
JEVE passed the supplier qualification evaluation of VW and Geely Commercial Vehicles.
