Chart: Honda Motor: Revision of the Automobile Business Development System in Japan and the USA

After merging production and development of motorcycles in 2019, Japanese automaker Honda Motor has been promoting the integration of the development function and production function of automobiles as well since 2020. In April 2020, Honda’s automobile business division established an integrated management system that is in charge of strategy planning, collective planning and development, individual model development, mass production preparation, and mass production and sales. In April 2021, the development function and the production function were also integrated in the United States following Japan. It is intended to speed up the time from development to production and strengthen competitiveness.
